So SoupGuy was wanting a trade and unhappy with his role. Thats interesting. Like his work wrhic but he had just no finish. Was that partly die to the wrist injury not being back to normal?!

How would we fit Hertl's contract on the Leafs? Even if SJ retained 50% I'm not sure I see how he could fit.

I really like him, but where would Hertl play if we acquired him? 3C?

No need to trade him unless part of larger deal. Keep using him in current role.

Hertl makes $5.6 a year. So probably not close to being a fit. Soup would be a candidate to pick up a 3rd or 4th round pick maybe. Problem is Leafs are pretty thin on LW. So a middling pick doesn't help much. Might be more realistic to get Soup better coaching to squeeze more production out of him.

Dubas says no on this on Hertl deal, San Jose says no on retaining salary. Bozak for 3C is interesting if Dubas can fit him in.
